India delivery center is one of our global delivery and capability hub. We bring together experts in AI, engineering, analysis, quality, and architecture to deliver product & process solutions, application run services, change and transformation initiatives, and centralized platform services across both on prem and Guidewire Cloud environments. Our teams operate from multiple global delivery centers, supporting Zurich's business units worldwide.

The Opportunity:

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity to join Zurich as a (Senior) API & Integration Developer within the Asia Pacific Region.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and performing unit and integration testing of APIs and system integrations. You will be part of a strategic initiative to build the new Zurich Edge Insurance Platform, enabling next-generation digital insurance distribution models. The platform is designed to support high levels of automation and straight-through processing across the entire insurance value chain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a deep understanding of business requirements and design effective integration and API solutions.
• Design domain-centric APIs aligned with business capabilities.
• Develop and test system integrations.
• Build Microservices-based APIs using REST and JSON.
• Develop Microservices using Asynchronous Design Patterns.
• Document APIs using Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Perform integration troubleshooting and defect analysis.

Support CI/CD processes, including:

• Configuration Management
• Automated Builds
• Unit Testing
• Deployment Pipelines
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to integrate enterprise applications and third-party systems.
• Ensure APIs are scalable, secure, and maintainable.

Required Skills & Experience:

Technical Skills:

• Minimum 5+ years of programming experience.
• Strong experience with Java.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot Framework.

Experience integrating with AWS Services, including:

• Amazon S3
• Amazon SQS
• Experience working with PostgreSQL Database.

Strong experience in API development using:

• REST
• JSON
• Swagger/OpenAPI
• Postman

Good understanding of:

• Synchronous Design Patterns
• Asynchronous Design Patterns

Experience with:

• SOAP Web Services
• API-First Design Approach
• Software Design Patterns

Experience using:

• Jira
• SonarQube

Experience with AI-assisted development tools:

• GitHub Copilot
• Claude Code
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Object-Oriented Modeling.

Sound understanding of:

• Agile Methodology
• DevOps Practices
• IT Project Delivery Lifecycle

• Experience with cloud-native application development on AWS.
• Knowledge of API security and enterprise integration best practices.
• Experience working in Agile Scrum environments.
• Exposure to Financial Services or Insurance domain is an advantage.
