Job Description Technical Manager / Engineering Manager - Privacy Technology

Location: Mumbai / Bangalore

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience: 8-15 Years

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager / Engineering Manager / Technical Lead / Principal Engineer / Solution Architect with a strong background in Privacy Engineering and Data Protection

Technologies.

The ideal candidate will lead the implementation, integration, onboarding, and optimization of enterprise privacy solutions while ensuring compliance with global privacy regulations including GDPR, DPDP, CCPA, and CPRA.

This is a leadership role requiring hands-on technical expertise, solution architecture experience, stakeholder management, and the ability to drive enterprise-scale privacy transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Lead the design, implementation, integration, and deployment of enterprise privacy solutions.
  • Define technical architecture and implementation strategies for privacy programs.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams on privacy technologies and best practices.
  • Conduct architecture and code reviews to ensure scalability, security, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, legal, security, and compliance teams to deliver privacy initiatives.


Privacy Program Implementation

  • Lead end-to-end implementation and onboarding of privacy solutions across enterprise applications.
  • Drive integration of privacy controls into business processes and technology platforms.
  • Implement Privacy by Design principles throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Configure and optimize privacy workflows including:

    • Data Subject Rights (DSAR)
    • Consent Management
    • Cookie Compliance
    • Data Mapping
    • Records of Processing Activities (RoPA)
    • Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA/DPIA)
    • Vendor Risk & Solution Engineering

      • Design and implement integrations using REST APIs, web services, and middleware.
      • Integrate privacy solutions with enterprise platforms including CRM, ERP, HRMS, IAM, and cloud applications.
      • Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
      • Develop technical documentation, implementation guides, and architecture diagrams.


      Compliance & Governance

      • Ensure enterprise solutions comply Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) by Design principles
    • Support privacy audits, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
    • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to translate regulatory requirements into technical solutions.


    Project & Stakeholder Management

    • Lead multiple implementation projects simultaneously.
    • Define project scope, timelines, milestones, and resource planning.
    • Engage with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical consulting.
    • Manage implementation risks and ensure successful project delivery.


    Required degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 8-15 years of overall IT experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience implementing enterprise privacy or compliance solutions.
  • Experience leading technical teams and enterprise implementation projects.

    • CIPT (Certified Information Privacy Technologist)
    • CIPPE (or equivalent regional privacy certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, TOGAF, AWS Solutions Architect, or Azure Architect are an added advantage.
