Job Summary
The Wintel L2 Engineer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining Windows-based infrastructure, virtualization platforms, and hybrid/cloud environments. The role focuses on incident resolution, patching, system monitoring, and ensuring operational stability in line with ITIL best practices.
Key Responsibilities 1. Windows Server Administration
- Manage and support Windows Servers (2012/2016/2019/2022)
- Perform server provisioning, configuration, and patching activities
- Troubleshoot OS-level issues, performance problems, and service failures
- Conduct regular health checks and system monitoring
2. Active Directory (AD) Management
- Perform user account management (creation, modification, deletion)
- Manage Group Policies (GPO), DNS, DHCP activities
- Handle AD-related service requests and basic troubleshooting
- Support access management and security compliance tasks
3. VMware / Virtualization Support
- Provide support for VMware environments (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)
- Perform VM provisioning, snapshot management, and cloning
- Monitor VM performance and resolve virtualization issues
- Assist in capacity management and resource optimization
4. Cloud & Infrastructure Support
- Provide L2 support for cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and hybrid environments
- Assist with VM deployment, basic configurations, and monitoring
- Work with L3 teams for complex cloud-related issues
5. Incident, Problem & Change Management
- Handle L2 incidents, service requests, and escalation handling
- Perform initial root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues
- Participate in change implementation and maintenance activities
- Ensure SLA adherence and proper ticket updates

6. Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor infrastructure using enterprise tools
- Track system performance, availability, and alerts
- Maintain operational reports and compliance dashboards
7. Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge base articles
- Support audit and compliance requirements
- Identify automation and improvement opportunities
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Windows Server administration
- Hands-on with Active Directory (User mgmt, GPO, DNS, DHCP)
- Good experience in VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)
- Knowledge of Cloud (Azure / AWS – basic exposure)
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem)
- Exposure to monitoring and ticketing tools
Preferred Skills
- Experience with patching tools (WSUS, SCCM, etc.)
- Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell)
- Exposure to backup, DR, and security practices
Soft Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical mindset
- Good communication and stakeholder handling
- Ability to work in 24x7 support / shifts
