Head Business Development (Defence Business) Report to CMO Location: Bangalore Role: Lead and drive the organization's Defence business by developing and executing strategic growth initiatives, acquiring new Defence clients, securing new projects, and expanding business opportunities with Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DRDO, Ordnance Factories) and private Defence OEMs, while identifying and pursuing additional opportunities across the Defence ecosystem. Key Responsibilities 1. Create, build, and grow the defence business from scratch by developing and executing a comprehensive business strategy, securing new defence programs, and establishing a strong market presence. 2. Drive new customer acquisition while expanding business with existing strategic customers through strong relationship management and business development initiatives. 3. Build and strengthen strategic relationships with key defence organizations, including DRDO, BEL, HAL and export customers to drive business opportunities and long-term partnerships. 4. Strong expertise in costing, program management, and commercial evaluation. 5. Drive order book growth, revenue, profitability, and long-term strategic accounts. 6. Define market entry strategies for new products, technologies, and defence programs. 7. Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, finance, and supply chain teams for successful project execution. Required Experience - B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline. MBA in Marketing or Business Management is preferred. - 15–20 years of experience in business development, sales or strategic account management in the defence industry. - Proven track record of creating, building, and expanding a defence business from inception. - Strong network with Defence PSUs, DRDO, Armed Forces, private defence OEMs, and government organizations. - Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
