The opportunity
We are looking for an Assistant Director - AI/GenAI - with a strong Go-To-Market (GTM) focus. The candidate in the role will define and drive the AI GTM strategy, build differentiated solution narratives and value propositions, and develop industry-specific solutions and use cases across Financial Services; Consumer, Products and Retail; Healthcare and Wellness; Manufacturing; Supply Chain; Telecom; Real Estate; and other sectors. A central part of the role is scaling AI/GenAI capabilities through business development, thought leadership, and talent development.
Your key responsibilities
- Define and execute the AI/GenAI Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy in alignment with business priorities and identify high-value AI transformation opportunities across functions and industries.
- Drive business development by originating new client opportunities, leading proposal development, and actively participating in pitches for existing and prospective accounts.
- Own executive-level client relationships by serving as a trusted advisor, ensuring delivery excellence, and identifying opportunities to expand client impact.
- Build AI solution narratives, value propositions, and differentiated messaging, and develop industry-specific AI use cases and business cases.
- Develop and commercialize thought leadership on emerging trends, including Generative AI, Agentic AI, autonomous workflows, and AI-powered analytics.
- Build reusable AI/GenAI intellectual property (IP), including proprietary frameworks, accelerators, and new offerings that differentiate EY's capabilities in the market.
- Develop, review, and implement solutions using AI, machine learning, and deep learning, and develop APIs using Python.
- Lead the development and implementation of Generative AI applications using open-source models (Llama, BERT, Mistral, etc.) and closed-source models (OpenAI GPT models, Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services, Claude, Cohere, etc.).
- Design and optimize solutions that leverage vector databases for efficient storage and retrieval of contextual data for LLMs.
- Understand business priorities and sector dynamics, and identify white spaces and opportunities for analytics and AI applications.
- Manage large and mid-sized projects, ensure smooth service delivery across assigned products, engagements and/or geographies, and work with project managers to address resource needs and gaps.
- Coach and mentor managers and junior colleagues, investing in the growth of EY's AI/GenAI talent and team culture.
- Collaborate across D&A and adjacent practices to bring integrated, high-impact AI solutions to clients' most complex challenges, and provide expert review across projects.
Skills and attributes for success
- AI & Data fluent: Strong understanding of AI, Generative AI, Agentic AI, machine learning, and data and analytics, with the ability to integrate data, AI/GenAI platforms, and analytics into large-scale enterprise transformations and articulate a clear point of view on the evolving agentic AI landscape.
- A proven business developer: Experienced in consulting, solutioning, pre-sales, product strategy, or technology GTM, including managing proposal processes, leading client pitches, growing accounts, and identifying and pursuing new opportunities.

To qualify for the role, you must have
- MBA or master's degree in Business, Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- 11-14 years of relevant work experience in developing and implementing AI and machine learning solutions; deployment experience in Azure is preferred.
- Proven experience in AI transformation programs, with a track record of pipeline generation, proposal development, and deal support.
- Experience building and commercializing AI/GenAI offerings, assets, or IP.
- Exposure to enterprise architecture, data governance, and automation platforms.
- Experience guiding teams on AI/Data Science projects and communicating results to clients.
- Familiarity with implementing solutions in the Azure cloud framework.
- Experience applying statistical techniques such as linear and non-linear regression, classification, optimization, forecasting, and text analytics.
- Familiarity with deep learning and machine learning algorithms and popular AI/ML frameworks.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience working with NLG, LLM, and deep learning techniques, including neural network approaches.
- Expertise in implementing applications using open-source and proprietary LLM models, and proficiency with LangChain-type orchestrators or similar Generative AI workflow management tools.
- Minimum of 6-9 years of programming experience in Python.
- Experience with the software development life cycle (SDLC) and principles of product development.
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to mentor team members, with strong technical and problem-solving skills.
