Position:Legal & Taxation Officer - Legal & Compliance

Reporting To:Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Legal & Taxation Officer to lead the organisations direct and indirect taxation statutory compliance and legal documentation. The ideal candidate will ensure full regulatory compliance manage tax-related matters support legal proceedings and provide guidance on compliance risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end GST compliance including return filing reconciliations refunds assessments and audits.
• Handle Income Tax compliance including advance tax TDS return filing and assessment proceedings.
• Review draft and negotiate commercial contracts vendor agreements and other legal documents.
• Ensure timely statutory filings and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Liaise with external auditors tax consultants legal advisors and regulatory authorities.
• Monitor changes in taxation and corporate laws and advise management on their business impact.
• Handle tax notices assessments audits and litigation in coordination with external legal counsel.
• Maintain accurate compliance records and ensure adherence to statutory deadlines.
• Support internal stakeholders on legal and tax-related matters.

Candidate Profile

• 10 years of experience in Direct & Indirect Taxation and Legal Compliance.
• Professional qualification such as CA CS LLB or equivalent practical experience in taxation and legal compliance.
• Strong knowledge of GST Income Tax TDS corporate laws and statutory regulations.
• Proven experience in handling assessments audits notices and litigation.
• Experience in manufacturing trading or export-oriented organisations is preferred.
• Excellent analytical documentation and communication skills.
• Highly organised detail-oriented and capable of independently managing compliance responsibilities.
• Ability to work effectively with senior management auditors consultants and government authorities.
