Senior Data Protection Engineer - Vulnerability Management

Role Overview:

As a Senior Data Protection Engineer (L3) based in Mumbai, you will serve as a technical authority for our enterprise data security posture.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of encryption solutions, ensuring that sensitive information remains protected across complex, heterogeneous environments.

This role involves close collaboration with infrastructure, application development, and compliance teams to architect and deploy robust security controls.

By maintaining the integrity and availability of our data protection platforms, you will directly mitigate security risks, safeguard customer trust, and ensure the organization meets stringent regulatory requirements in an evolving threat landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

- Architect and deploy enterprise-grade encryption solutions to secure data at rest and in transit, ensuring compliance with global security standards.

- Manage and optimize CipherTrust Manager and Vormetric platforms to maintain high availability and performance for critical business applications.

- Lead the remediation of security vulnerabilities by conducting regular assessments and implementing patches to harden Linux-based server environments.

- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to integrate data security controls into CI/CD pipelines, enabling secure and seamless application delivery.

- Provide L3-level technical support for complex security incidents, performing root cause analysis to prevent future system disruptions.

- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures and security architecture diagrams, to ensure operational consistency across the team.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in managing CipherTrust Manager and Vormetric environments, with a deep understanding of key management and encryption policies.

- Advanced proficiency in Linux system administration and security hardening, including kernel-level security configurations and access control management.

- Proven ability to execute comprehensive vulnerability management programs, translating technical findings into actionable remediation plans for diverse infrastructure teams.

- Strong analytical mindset to troubleshoot complex integration issues between encryption layers and underlying database or file systems.

- Excellent communication skills to articulate technical security risks to non-technical stakeholders and influence cross-departmental security initiatives.

- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, on-site environment in Mumbai, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to solving emerging security challenges.

- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, complemented by relevant professional certifications in data security or Linux administration.
