Legal Counsel

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

• Provide legal counsel and guidance on various business activities contracts and agreements.
• Provide transactional support to Lubrizols businesses and functions in the India Middle East and Africa region.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Draft review and negotiate legal documents including contracts NDAs consulting agreements strategic cooperation and joint venture agreements real property agreements sales and other offtake agreements equipment supply agreements EPC agreements etc.
• Manage day-to-day legal request from the business and functional teams.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings including negotiations mediations and litigations.
• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the business and advise stakeholders accordingly.
• Support strategic projects of Lubrizols group companies in India the Middle East (including Saudi Arabia Türkiye and the UAE) and South Africa.

The Ideal Candidate should have

• Legal Qualifications: An LL.B. degree and a strong foundation in corporate and commercial law.
• Depth of Experience: 10 years of substantive legal experience ideally spanning both leading law firms and in-house legal roles.
• Executive Communication: Exceptional communication and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear practical business advice.
• Commercial Acumen: A proven ability to operate as a trusted business partner balancing legal risk with commercial objectives and working with a high degree of independence.
• Negotiation Capability: Demonstrated experience leading negotiations on sophisticated high-value agreements with global counterparties.
• Compliance Leadership: The ability to partner effectively with senior leadership to strengthen a culture of compliance and proactively identify and address legal and compliance risks.
