Senior / Lead Java Developer - Grade 2

Job Description

We are hiring  Java Developers (Grade 2)   with  4–6 years of strong hands-on development experience   in Java and related technologies. The candidate should have worked on at least  3 medium-sized (>

9 months)   or  2 large (>

1.5 years)   SDLC projects. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing scalable enterprise applications, while working closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise applications using  Java (OOP principles), Spring Framework, Hibernate, AJAX, XML, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript .
• Work with  JBOSS and Tomcat App Servers ,  MSSQL DB (DDL, DML) , and  Eclipse IDE .
• Design CI / CD pipelines, integrate scanning tools, and automate  UAT deployments .
• Independently understand requirements, implement modules / functions, and manage changes during  UAT and Pilot phases .
• Support  change requests, enhancements, and production issues   effectively.
• Troubleshoot issues during  UAT and warranty phases , ensuring smooth resolution.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams (SDC and HQ) in  English (verbal and written) .
• Provide support aligned to  Nigeria time zones   when required.
• Willing to travel  overseas (1–2 months)   during project phases and for post-implementation support.

Strong problem-solving and independent troubleshooting skills. Desired Skills (Good to Have) Experience with reporting tools such as Elixir, Jasper. Exposure to VSTS (Azure DevOps). Knowledge of Batch jobs & Shell scripting. Domain knowledge in Trade Facilitation. Experience in a Team Lead / Project Lead role.
