Key Responsibilities / Duties :
- Able to carry out civil engineering design like hydraulic calculations / analysis, Civil general arrangement drawings, pipe longitudinal sections, specifications, BOQs, prepare and review tenders, detailed design / engineering of water and wastewater networks as per industry / client standards.
- Has exposure to UK drainage design or some knowledge of 12D,12d Synergy, Drains
- Works independently. Has an ability to clearly understand problem, put them on paper and solve independently or with minor assistance. Can mentor new joiners.
- Is a team player
- Has previous design experience in working on UK drainage design projects or additional experience in drainage design from Australia or US or ME shall be an advantage.
- Shall attend discipline meetings, take notes and delegate actions as required.
- Is conversant with relevant codes and standards from UK or other regions as applicable.
- Has good experience of leading and delivering multi-disciplinary projects and can co-ordinate effectively with other disciplines.
- Familiarity with relevant standards and water company specifications.
- Ensures that the designers duties as applicable are adhered to
- Is familiar with preparation and review of various reports and other project documentation and can ensure that all documentation is current, accurate and in compliance as per Client requirements.
- Could switch between projects and regions in short span and remains effective in delivering results.
- As Project Manager, interprets and adheres to budget, schedule and quality requirements.
- Ensuring QC process is being followed, delivery to the right quality and timelines
- Standardising workflows based on the project requirements
- Drives innovation into designs
- Is excellent in oral and written communication. Could effectively use virtual mediums for communication like MS Teams, Skype, Mobile communication. Communicates and liaises effectively with internal and external clients, vendors, subcontractors, consultants etc. both online and offline.
- Recognises, defines and resolves problems within assigned area.
- Interprets the design risk and assumptions associated with the project and records this as the project progresses. Has knowledge of project registers like assumptions, risk and CDM etc.
- Interprets and promotes best practice in health, safety and environmental matters.
Candidate Specification :
BE Civil. Post Graduation in Civil or Environmental Engineering would be preferable.Some experience in Water / wastewater Pipelines and Networks experience on Australia or UK projects would be preferable.Chartered Engineer or working towards achieving it would be preferable.Good knowledge of the design process, engineering.Experience of working on multidisciplinary projectsGood Project Management skills and knowledge of project commercial issues and constraintsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGood client liaison skillsShould be able to troubleshoot and guide team membersProactive and innovative approach, and able to adapt to changing scenariosSoftware knowledge
12D, Drains, synergy software ideally and preferably the below software
Microdrainage / Civil3D or OpenRoads Software know DMRB. May have exposure to Causeway or InfoDrainage software
Hands-on experience in AutoCAD, and Navisworks
Conversant with MS Word, Excel
Familiar with Document management systems like SharePoint, 12d Synergy, Bentley ProjectWise and BIM360
