Data Platform Engineer II

About the Team The Data Platform Tech Team at Navi is instrumental in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. We build and manage the core infrastructure and tools required to collect, store, process, and analyze data at scale. Our platforms support self-serve capabilities for both batch and real-time data processing. We work closely with Analytics, Data Science, and Product teams to power a wide range of data use cases across Navi.

About the Role

As an SDE-2 on the Data Platform team, you'll play a critical role in building large-scale backend services and distributed data systems that power Navi's business operations and intelligence. You'll work on high-throughput, low-latency infrastructure that processes billions of events and transactions with high reliability. You'll collaborate closely with senior engineers to deliver well-architected components and services that are observable, resilient, and scale efficiently under real-world workloads.

What We Expect From You

Design, develop, and maintain backend services, data pipelines, and

batch / realtime datasets related to web events and analytics.

Strong proficiency in at least one of the following languages : Java, Python, Kotlin, Go.

Expertise in object-oriented design, design patterns, and data structures.

Lead the development of new foundational capabilities in support of enabling

our users can interact with, analyze, and derive insights from their data.

Solve complex and challenging problems in the intersection between low

latency, high correctness, and full determinism.

Participate in code reviews, provide mentorship to juniors and peers, and

enforce coding standards.

Investigate, diagnose, and resolve software defects and issues, ensuring a

high level of product quality.

Contribute to the overall architecture and design of data platform frameworks.

Strong interpersonal skills, showcasing effective stakeholder management with product and design teams.

Having 2–4 years of software development experience.

Must Haves

Familiarity with modern data lakehouse architectures and related technologies

(e.G. Spark, Flink, Kafka, Trino).

Prior experience in on-prem data-platform is preferred.

Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new and complex development

environments, along with strong deep-dive analytical skills.
