We are seeking a Technical Product Engineer at the Senior level to join our dynamic product engineering team. This role is pivotal in bridging technical depth with strategic product thinking to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions in the airline domain. You will own and drive the technical roadmap, collaborate across functions, and ensure delivery excellence with a focus on continuous improvement and customer-centricity.

Key Features of a Retail Platform in Airlines :

Offer Management :

  • Dynamically create and bundle offers (e.G., flight + seat + baggage + lounge access).
  • Tailor offers based on customer preferences, loyalty status, and travel history.

Dynamic Pricing :

  • Real-time pricing based on demand, competition, and customer segmentation.
  • Uses data analytics and AI to optimize revenue.
  • Omnichannel Distribution :

  • Supports direct channels (airline website, mobile app) and indirect channels (travel agencies, GDS).
  • Ensures consistent experience across all touchpoints.
  • Personalization :

  • Uses customer data to personalize offers and communications.
  • Enhances customer experience and increases conversion rates.
  • Ancillary Sales :

  • Enables selling of non-flight products like seat upgrades, meals, Wi-Fi, insurance, etc.
  • Drives incremental revenue.
  • Integration with NDC (New Distribution Capability) :

  • Supports IATA’s NDC standards for modern retailing through APIs.
  • Facilitates richer content and direct relationships with customers.
  • Analytics & Insights :

  • Tracks customer behavior, sales performance, and market trends.
  • Helps in refining strategies and improving ROI.
  • PRIMARY FUNCTIONS (RESPONSIBILITIES) :

    Product Vision & Technical Strategy :

  • Translate product vision into actionable technical initiatives and milestones.
  • Align a technical roadmap with business goals and broader product strategy.
  • Serve as a key contributor in shaping architectural and design decisions.
  • Ensure that the work is strategically aligned to portfolio mission and engage with other TPE’s to align and manage dependencies within portfolio and across portfolios
  • Agile Product Ownership :

  • Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies : planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Create, prioritize, sequence, and maintain the product backlog
  • Lead backlog grooming and ensure stories are well-defined and ready for sprint cycles.
  • Balance delivery between new features, technical debt resolution, and maintenance.
  • Technical Backlog & Story Management :

  • Prioritize and manage backlog focusing on infrastructure, architecture, and enablers.
  • Assist with the elaboration of Features into user stories that are detailed enough to be achieved in every sprint
  • Write and refine user stories with clear acceptance criteria and business context.
  • Ensure continuous grooming and planning readiness for upcoming sprints.
  • Bug Triage & Issue Management :

  • Lead bug triaging with QA and engineering to evaluate severity and root cause.
  • Drive prioritization of fixes based on business impact and urgency.
  • Oversee resolution of production issues and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration :

  • Act as the bridge between product, engineering, QA, architecture, and business teams.
  • Gather and articulate technical requirements aligned with business needs.
  • Build alignment and clarity across all involved teams.
  • Technical Oversight & Quality :

  • Contribute to architectural design, API standards, integration frameworks, and non-functional requirements (security, performance, scalability).
  • Ensure technical feasibility and delivery integrity of proposed solutions.
  • Monitor sprint execution and mitigate blockers with the team.
  • KPIs, Delivery, and Continuous Improvement :

  • Track and analyze Engineering KPIs, release velocity, defect density, and system health.
  • Drive retrospectives and process enhancements.
  • Champion innovation and engineering excellence within the team.
  • WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS) :

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3-6 years of experience in software product development, with at least 2 years in a technical product / engineering lead role.
  • Strong understanding of Agile development practices, CI / CD, and DevOps pipelines.
  • Proven experience in managing technical backlogs, writing user stories, API testing and stakeholder engagement.
  • Prior exposure to airline, travel, or transportation systems is a strong plus.
  • Technical proficiency across backend, frontend, APIs, cloud platforms (AWS / Azure), and monitoring tools.
