Position: Operations Manager – AML/KYC International Process

Location: Chennai

Shift: Rotational Shifts (24/7 Operations)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and manage AML/KYC operations for international banking and financial services clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing stakeholder relationships, and leading high-performing teams within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

• Manage end-to-end AML/KYC operations, including Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Periodic Reviews, Remediation, and Screening processes.
• Ensure compliance with global AML regulations, KYC requirements, and internal policies.
• Monitor productivity, quality, SLA adherence, and operational performance metrics.
• Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
• Identify operational risks and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop Team Leaders and Analysts.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and succession planning activities.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Manage workforce planning, resource allocation, and capacity management.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure adherence to AML, KYC, Sanctions Screening, and Anti-Financial Crime regulations.
• Support internal and external audits and regulatory reviews.
• Escalate high-risk cases and compliance concerns appropriately.
• Maintain strong controls to mitigate operational and regulatory risks.

Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and senior management.
• Present operational performance, MIS reports, and business insights to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with compliance, quality, training, and technology teams to achieve business objectives.

Reporting & Governance

• Prepare and analyze operational dashboards and management reports.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs), quality metrics, and compliance measures.
• Drive governance meetings and action plans for performance improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Commerce, Banking, or related field.
• 8–12 years of experience in AML/KYC operations with at least 3–5 years in people management.
• Strong understanding of AML regulations, KYC/CDD/EDD, sanctions screening, and financial crime compliance.
• Experience managing large teams within a BPO, Shared Services, Banking Operations, or Financial Services environment.
• Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• CAMS, ICA, ACAMS, or equivalent AML certification.
• Experience working with international banking clients.
• Exposure to Lean Six Sigma or process improvement methodologies.
