Role Overview

We are looking for a curious, self-driven Technical Content Writer who loves learning new technologies and turning complex ideas into simple, engaging content. This isn't a role where you'll wait for tasks -- you'll identify opportunities, research merchant problems, experiment with new ideas, and create content that helps Shopify merchants succeed. If you enjoy ownership, continuous learning, and using AI as a productivity tool (not a replacement for thinking), you'll fit right in.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

• Research merchant pain points, competitor strategies, industry trends, and convert them into practical content.
• Create high-quality blogs, guides, and product content by simplifying complex technical concepts.
• Build content that performs well across search engines and AI-powered search platforms.
• Collaborate with the product and marketing teams to align content with business goals.
• Continuously improve content based on analytics, experiments, and user feedback.
• Stay updated on changes in SEO, AI search, Shopify, and eCommerce trends.
• Evaluate and refine AI-generated content to ensure accuracy, quality, and originality.

Must-Have Skills

• 1+ years of experience in content writing (preferably in SaaS, eCommerce, or marketing tech).
• Strong knowledge of on-page SEO and content strategy.
• Strong writing skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a simple, engaging, and easy-to-understand way.
• Excellent research skills and curiosity to independently learn unfamiliar topics before writing about them.
• A strong sense of ownership with the ability to identify opportunities, experiment with ideas, and drive work with minimal guidance.
• Good understanding of how high-quality content performs across search engines and AI-powered search platforms.
• Experience using AI tools productively while applying your own judgment to ensure accuracy, quality, and originality.
• Experience with tools like Google Docs, Grammarly, Google Search Console, Ahrefs/SEMrush, or similar research and analytics tools.

Bonus Skills

• Familiarity with the Shopify ecosystem, eCommerce, and merchant challenges.
• Personal writing projects such as blogs, newsletters, LinkedIn articles, or technical documentation.
• Reading habit with a genuine interest in learning about technology, AI, eCommerce, or content marketing.
