Senior Data Platform Engineer/Data Architect

About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate enterprise-scale data platforms and analytical repositories. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver data warehouses, data marts, operational data stores, and reporting repositories that support business analytics and data Architect and deliver enterprise-scale data platforms and analytical repositories (data warehouse, data marts, ODS).

- Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines for batch and near-real-time data ingestion.

- Develop and tune complex SQL (queries, stored procedures) and implement performance improvements (indexing, partitioning, query refactoring).

- Manage relational database platforms (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) and recommend appropriate technologies for scale and cost.

- Implement cloud-based data solutions and migrate/operate data workloads on AWS/Azure/GCP managed services.

- Establish metadata management, data governance, lineage, and data quality practices.

- Integrate data from APIs, monitoring tools, cloud platforms, and ITSM systems.

- Create technical designs, runbooks, and collaborate with BI, analytics, and infra teams.

- Mentor junior engineers and participate in architecture reviews.

Required qualifications:

- 8+ years in database architecture, engineering, or data platform roles.

- Strong SQL skills and experience with at least two of: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL.

- Hands-on experience designing data warehouses, marts, and ODS.

- Experience with ETL/ELT tools and data pipeline frameworks.

- Familiarity with cloud data services (specify AWS/Azure/GCP).

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka).

- Knowledge of metadata/governance tools (Collibra, Alation).

- Certifications in cloud or database platforms.
