We currently serve over 100,000 students and are building the architecture to scale to millions of learners across India and global markets.

The Role :

We are looking for an AI Technical Architect who can bridge AI, backend engineering, data architecture, and team leadership. This is not a research role and not a pure engineering management role. You will be responsible for evolving our AI and data infrastructure, scaling our knowledge graph architecture, improving reliability and cloud efficiency, and leading a team of engineers building AI-powered products for students, teachers, and schools.

What You Will Own :

- Architecture of AcadAlly's adaptive learning and assessment platform.

- Evolution and scaling of our Knowledge Graph infrastructure.

- Design and deployment of LLM-powered educational experiences.

- AI orchestration, evaluation, monitoring, and guardrails.

- Engineering standards, code quality, and technical reviews.

- Cloud infrastructure, reliability, scalability, and cost optimization.

- Hiring, mentoring, and managing a team of 10 - 15 engineers.

- AI platform roadmap and technical decision-making.

Required Experience :

1. AI + Backend Engineering :

You can write production-quality Python django code and have built AI-powered systems beyond prototypes. You have experience with :

- LLM integrations

- Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)

- Prompt orchestration

- Model evaluation

- Guardrails and safety layers

- AI workflow design

2. Cloud Cost Optimization :

- You have materially reduced infrastructure or AI inference costs in a previous organization and can demonstrate measurable impact.

3. Engineering Leadership :

- You have managed or led a team of approximately 8-10 engineers and have experience hiring, mentoring, and driving accountability.

4. Python / Django Expertise :

- You can comfortably operate within an existing Python and Django ecosystem and make architectural decisions without requiring extensive ramp-up time.

5. Knowledge Graphs in Production :

- You have designed, built, or owned a graph database system (Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, or equivalent) powering a live product. We are specifically looking for someone who understands graph modeling, relationships, traversal strategies, and production-scale graph architectures.

6. LLM Orchestration Frameworks :

You have practical experience using frameworks such as :

- LangChain

- LangGraph

- CrewAI

- Direct API orchestration approaches

- You should have strong opinions based on production experience, not theoretical familiarity.

Preferred Experience :

1. Cloud & Kubernetes :

- GCP and GKE

- Kubernetes

- Docker

- CI/CD pipelines

- Observability and monitoring systems

2. Distributed Systems :

- Microservices

- Event-driven architectures

- Message queues

- High-volume API systems

3. AI Data Infrastructure :

Experience building :

- Recommendation engines

- Personalization systems

- Learning analytics platforms

- Data pipelines for AI applications

4. Educational or Consumer Platforms :

- Experience building large-scale consumer applications, EdTech platforms, or high-engagement products is preferred.

Nice to Have :

- Experience with Indian K-12 education.

- Understanding of CBSE, ICSE, and assessment ecosystems.

- Familiarity with adaptive learning systems.

- Experience building AI products in education.

- Awareness of DPDP compliance and student data privacy requirements.

Tech Stack :

The ideal candidate should have strong familiarity with technologies such as Python, Django, FastAPI, React, Next.js, Neo4j, MongoDB, MySQL, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, RAG pipelines, vector databases, and modern AI observability frameworks.
