Senior Engineering Director - Distributed Systems

Role Overview :

As the Senior Director of Engineering, you will serve as the technical anchor for our Bangalore operations, steering the vision and execution of complex, high-scale platforms. You will operate at the intersection of enterprise strategy and hands-on system design, collaborating closely with product leadership, global stakeholders, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver robust solutions.

Your daily mandate involves balancing long-term architectural integrity with the immediate demands of a fast-paced environment, ensuring that our video streaming, audio-visual integration, and content recognition technologies remain industry-leading. By driving technical excellence and fostering a culture of innovation, you will directly influence the scalability of our infrastructure and the overall value delivered to our global customer base.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of complex distributed systems to ensure high availability and performance for our global user base.

- Define and execute the overarching IT strategy, aligning technical roadmaps with business objectives to maintain a competitive edge in the market.

- Oversee the architecture of advanced video streaming and audio-video integration frameworks, ensuring seamless delivery and high-fidelity user experiences.

- Implement sophisticated Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) solutions to enhance data accuracy and content intelligence across our platforms.

- Manage the lifecycle of Ariba Downstream processes, optimizing procurement workflows to drive operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

- Mentor and scale high-performing engineering teams, cultivating an environment of technical rigor, accountability, and continuous professional growth.

- Partner with executive stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable system architectures that support long-term organizational goals.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated mastery in designing and maintaining large-scale distributed systems, with a deep understanding of cloud-native architectures and microservices.

- Proven ability to architect complex enterprise solutions, specifically integrating Ariba Downstream modules and managing high-volume ETL pipelines.

- Extensive expertise in the media technology domain, including video streaming protocols, AV integration, and the deployment of Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) technologies.

- Exceptional leadership capabilities, with a track record of managing large engineering organizations and fostering cross-departmental collaboration in a hybrid work environment.

- Strong strategic communication skills, enabling the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence executive decision-making.

- A minimum of 15 - 25 years of progressive experience in software engineering and leadership, ideally supported by an advanced degree from a premier institute.

- High adaptability to evolving business needs, with the capacity to pivot technical strategies rapidly in response to market shifts and emerging technological trends.
