Role Purpose and Impact:

The Student Counselor will play a pivotal role in supporting our students' academic, emotional, and social development. By providing tailored counseling services, you will help students navigate their challenges, enhance their self-awareness, and ensure they have the tools needed for success both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and group counseling sessions to students to address personal, social, and academic concerns.
• Develop and implement personalized action plans to support student growth and well-being.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administration to create a supportive educational environment.
• Conduct workshops and seminars on mental health, wellness, and coping strategies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
• Stay up-to-date with best practices in student counseling and mental health.
• Advocate for student needs and contribute to school policies that promote wellness and inclusivity.

Team Collaboration:

As a member of the Education - Teaching Department, you will work closely with educators, administrators, and support staff to foster a culture of care and support within the school community. Your insights will be invaluable in creating programs that align with our mission and enhance student success.

Requirements:

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.

Experience Requirements:

2-10 years of experience in a counseling role, preferably in an educational setting.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in using counseling software and tools, data management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and staff.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Adaptability to changing environments and student needs.
• Patience and empathy in dealing with diverse student populations.
• High emotional intelligence to understand and manage interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications in counseling, mental health first aid, or related areas are a plus.
