About the Role

Have a crucial role in overseeing the use contribution and compliance of open-source software within the organization. You drive strategic planning policy development and ensure that the companys use of FOSS aligns with its business goals and legal requirements. You act as a liaison between different departments including legal engineering and product teams to facilitate the effective integration of open-source solutions and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.

What You Will Do

• Manage the lifecycle of open-source software within the company.
• Identify and evaluate open-source projects that can be leveraged to enhance the companys products and services ensuring compliance with open-source licenses and contributing to the open-source community.
• coordinate with developers to integrate open-source components.
• Manage contributions to external projects.
• Maintain an inventory of open-source software used within the organization.
• Provide training and support to employees on best practices for using and contributing to open-source software.
• Develop policies to mitigate risks associated with open-source usage.

What You Need to Be Successful

• 12 overall work experience in SW industry
• 8 years of proven experience in FOSS
• Deep understanding of Software development lifecycle and related technical expertise (Code repositories CI Pipelines Android ...)
• Deep knowledge of FOSS licenses and obligations to discuss with legal counsel.
• Good knowledge of industry practices (FOSS compliance & FOSS development model)
• Curiosity in technologies products
• Willingness to travel (2-3 times a year for some days)
• Experience using standard Project Management SCRUM and Agile methodologies.

Bonus Points if You Have

• Prior experience in a strategy consulting firm with automotive customers
• Hands-on experience in system engineering especially MBSE
