Cognos Developer

Job Title: Cognos Analytics

Location - Bangalore

Experience Required: 6-8 years of experience in Cognos Analytics.

Technical/Functional Skills

• 6-8 years of Experience with Cognos Report development and maintaining reports.
• Excellent understanding of SQL and data modeling principles.
• Role involves analyzing business requirements.
• Design, develop, and maintain Cognos BI reports and dashboards
• Work with Framework Manager (FM) to build and manage data models
• Develop:
• List reports
• Crosstab reports
• Drill-through & master-detail reports
• Create and maintain dynamic dashboards using Cognos Analytics
• Optimize report performance and ensure efficient query execution
• Perform data validation and testing
• Collaborate with business users to gather reporting requirements
• Support production issues and enhancements
• Work on data integration from multiple sources (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
• Experience in administrative tasks. Creating and maintaining schedules, jobs, troubleshooting reports failure.
• Cognos Author certification is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum delivery model

Good to have skills

• Knowledge on Agile Methodology
• Knowledge of ETL tools (Informatica, DataStage, Talend)
• Exposure to Power BI / Tableau (multi-BI skill advantage)
• Basic scripting (shell/Python) for automation
• Cloud exposure (Azure/AWS) – optional in newer projects
