Job Overview :
We are looking for a highly skilled Sr. Technical Engineer L3 - Cisco Wireless Administrator to join our team in Hyderabad.
The ideal candidate must have 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise-scale Cisco wireless environments.
You will be responsible for maintaining wireless infrastructure, managing Cisco DNA Center (DNAC), and ensuring seamless wireless connectivity and lifecycle management.
Roles & Responsibilities :
Lifecycle & Migration Management :
- Build and maintain the EoL/EoS inventory, refresh plans, BoM, and migration schedules.
- Validate hardware compatibility including AP models, WLC codes, RF profiles, and target images.
- Coordinate change windows, backout plans, and rollback images or archives.
- Execute cutovers such as WLC HA failovers, AP priming/reassignments, and like-for-like hardware replacements.
- Perform extensive post-cutover health checks on AP association, SSIDs, RF coverage, client authentication, and DHCP/DNS reachability.
Cisco DNAC Administration :
- Use DNAC Design & Templates to standardize site hierarchy, SSIDs, AAA, DHCP helpers, WLAN policies, RF profiles, and QoS.
- Manage Software Image Management (SWIM) for golden images and compliant versions across WLCs and APs.
- Leverage Provisioning for device onboarding, CLI/Composite templates, and variable mappings.
- Pre-stage devices in DNAC inventory using serials, site assignments, and credentials.
- Gracefully drain and migrate clients while removing decommissioned hardware from DNAC policies and templates.
Switching & Network Configurations :
- Define and apply standard port profiles including AP access ports, trunk/native VLANs, PoE budgets, and storm control.
- Update switch configurations to support AP moves, adds, and changes using VLANs, mGig, and LAG.
Documentation & IT Governance :
- Maintain Low-Level Designs (LLDs), migration runbooks, rollback plans, IQ/OQ reports, and as-built diagrams.
- Keep DNAC templates and image compliance matrices updated under version control.
- Log and manage all changes under ITSM (RFCs) along with risk/impact assessments and CAB approvals.
- Update CMDB assets, lifecycle states, and warranty or license records.
