Position: Head of Digital Engineering India
Role Overview:
The Head of Digital Engineering India is responsible for leading the organization's India engineering hub, driving execution excellence, delivery velocity, and engineering quality across Digital & Technology initiatives.
This leader will establish India as a strategic global engineering center, delivering Finance technology solutions, AI-powered platforms, and enterprise digital products at scale while building a high-performing engineering organization focused on innovation, operational excellence, and talent development.
Key Responsibilities:
Build India as a Global Engineering Hub:
- Lead end-to-end engineering execution for Finance platforms, AI initiatives, and enterprise digital products from India.
- Scale the India engineering organization while ensuring predictable delivery, high engineering standards, and strong organizational capability.
- Position India as a strategic product engineering center rather than an offshore execution team.
Finance & AI Product Engineering:
- Partner with Product leaders to build and scale enterprise Finance applications.
- Drive engineering execution for AI platforms, machine learning enablement, data engineering, and applied AI solutions across business functions.
- Deliver secure, scalable, and business-focused technology solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and governance.
Engineering Excellence:
- Establish engineering best practices, development standards, and delivery governance.
- Improve software quality, engineering productivity, release predictability, and operational excellence.
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes, DevOps, testing, and automation.
- Manage engineering capacity planning, squad allocation, delivery commitments, and performance.
Leadership & Talent Development:
- Lead the India Digital Engineering organization and develop a strong leadership pipeline.
- Build and mentor Engineering Directors, Senior Engineering Managers, and technical leaders.
- Drive hiring, employee engagement, retention, leadership development, and succession planning.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR to strengthen campus hiring, lateral recruitment, and leadership programs.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Digital Engineering, Data & AI, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, and Operations teams.
- Build strong partnerships with global stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Provide transparent delivery updates, proactively manage risks, and ensure alignment across distributed teams.

- 12+ years of experience leading large-scale software engineering or digital technology organizations.
- Proven success in building and scaling engineering teams in India.
- Strong background in enterprise software delivery and digital product development.
- Experience leading global engineering teams in product-driven organizations.
- Demonstrated expertise in engineering leadership, organizational scaling, and talent development.
- Experience delivering Finance technology platforms or enterprise business applications.
- Exposure to AI, machine learning, data platforms, or intelligent automation initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management experience across global leadership teams.
- Experience working in distributed, multi-region engineering environments.
