Software Engineer - SAP BW/4HANA Development

Role Summary :

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer - SAP BW to design, develop, and optimize enterprise data solutions that drive business intelligence, advanced analytics, and data-driven decision-making.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, SAP Business Data Cloud, and SAP S/4HANA Logistics, with hands-on experience in enterprise data modelling, ETL development, reporting, and performance optimization.

The role requires close collaboration with business and technology teams to deliver scalable, high-quality analytics and reporting solutions across logistics and supply chain domains.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Modelling & Integration :

- Design, develop, and optimize SAP BW/4HANA data models for Logistics datasets (SD, TM, WM/EWM).

- Develop and maintain :

1. CompositeProviders

2. ADSOs

3. BW Queries

4. CDS-based data models

- Design and implement ETL processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data from SAP S/4HANA, CDS Views, and external sources.

- Build scalable semantic models using SAP Datasphere.

- Integrate SAP BW solutions with SAP Business Data Cloud and enterprise reporting platforms.

Reporting & Analytics :

- Develop BW Queries to support enterprise reporting.

- Integrate SAP BW with :

1. SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

2. BEx Analyzer

3. Analysis for Office (AFO)

- Build logistics dashboards and analytical reporting solutions.

- Ensure reporting solutions meet performance, scalability, and usability standards.

Testing & Change Management :

- Participate in Unit Testing, SIT, and UAT activities.

- Support SAP BW/4HANA migration initiatives.

- Implement change requests following project governance.

- Review AMDP SQL logic and optimize performance.

Performance Optimization & Support :

- Monitor data loads and resolve ETL failures.

- Troubleshoot integration issues across SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, SAP Business Data Cloud, and SAP S/4HANA.

- Optimize BW objects, HANA SQLScript, and HANA-based data models.

- Provide production support and incident resolution.

Solution Design :

- Conduct workshops to gather logistics business requirements.

- Recommend SAP best practices and standard solutions.

- Prepare Technical Specification Documents (TSI) based on Functional Specifications (FSI).

- Assess downstream impacts of changes in SAP S/4HANA and non-SAP systems.

- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Mandatory Skills :

- 6 - 10 years of experience in SAP BW/4HANA Development.

- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with SAP Datasphere.

- Strong experience in :

1. SAP BW/4HANA

2. CompositeProviders

3. ADSOs

4. BW Queries

5. CDS Views

- Strong ETL development experience.

- Experience with SAP Business Data Cloud.

- Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Logistics modules :

1. SD

- Hands-on experience with :

1. SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

2. BEx

3. Analysis for Office (AFO)

- Strong HANA SQLScript (AMDP) development.

- ABAP enhancements experience.

- SQL tuning and performance optimization.

- Production support and troubleshooting.

- Agile project experience.

- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
