Job Description: Senior Principal Process Engineer (8 -12 Years Experience)

Role Definition

The Senior Principal Process Engineer is responsible for leading process engineering activities developing process concepts and design packages and ensuring technically sound commercially competitive solutions for Hydrogen HyCO synthesis gas CO2 Removal and Gasification related chemical plants. The role involves close coordination with Business Development & Sales teams direct customer interaction and leadership in project execution and optimization.

Qualification & Skills

• / in Chemical Engineering from a reputed university
• 10 years of experience in Process Design & Engineering
• Advanced expertise in Aspen HYSYS Aspen Plus UNISIM or equivalent simulation tools
• Extensive experience in:
  
  • Hydrogen Technologies
    • SMR (Grey & Blue Hydrogen)
    • Electrolysis (PEM Alkaline SOEC Green Hydrogen)
  • HyCO & Syngas Process
  • CO Removalprocess
    • Amine systems/ Chemical wash processes
  • Coal Gasification & Syngas Conditioning & Purification
    • Sour Water Gas Shift (SWGS)
    • Rectisol / Physical solvent processes
  • Downstream Synthesis
    • Ammonia
    • Methanol
    • Synthetic Natural Gas (SNG)
• Strong techno-commercial understanding of project costing and plant economics (NPV/ LCC)
• Advance understanding of ARE power profiles to determine optimal electrolyser capacity and optimized specific energy consumption (kWh/kgH2)
• Proven experience in leading client interactions and technical discussions

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead process design and simulation activities for hydrogen syngas ammonia and CO2 removal plants
• Lead electrolyser system design including:
• Integration with renewable power profiles
• Battery storage and hydrogen storage optimization
• Downstream purification and compression systems
• Develop and optimize process concepts aligned with customer requirements and commercial viability
• Drive plant optimizationbased on:
  • Life cycle cost (LCC)
  • Net Present Value (NPV)
• Review and approve key engineering deliverables:
  • Process design basis
  • PFDs P&IDs
  • Heat & Mass Balance
  • Process Datasheet
  • Equipment sizing and specifications
• Lead technical proposal preparation including:
  • Configure optimized Process Concept from CAPEX & OPEX point of view
  • Utility and consumption calculations
  • Process Guarantee Numbers
  • Technical risk assessment
• Act as interface with clients EPC contractors and internal stakeholders
• Support Business Development & Sales teams in:
  • Technical clarifications
  • Bid strategy and competitiveness
• Lead plant performance guarantee tests
• Drive after-sales support activities:
  • Plant audits and performance evaluations
  • Revamp studies and debottlenecking
  • Customer optimization discussions
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work outputs
