Senior Backend Engineer - Python/FastAPI

What You'll Do :

- Design, build, and operate the backend powering agent execution, campaign management, user management, and platform services using Python and FastAPI.

- Architect scalable APIs and backend services from data modeling through production deployment.

- Build and maintain long-running, fault-tolerant workflows using Temporal or similar workflow orchestration frameworks.

- Design highly available, low-latency distributed systems for a multi-tenant SaaS platform.

- Optimize system performance through efficient caching, database tuning, asynchronous processing, and horizontal scalability.

- Own PostgreSQL schema design, query optimization, indexing strategies, and Redis-based caching.

- Build reliable integration and end-to-end testing frameworks that enable rapid and confident releases.

- Implement production-grade observability using structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, monitoring, and alerting.

- Collaborate closely with frontend engineers to deliver seamless product experiences.

- Drive engineering excellence through design reviews, architecture RFCs, documentation, and operational best practices.

- Participate in architectural decisions, incident response, and continuous platform improvements.

What We're Looking For :

- 5 to 10 years of experience building and operating production backend systems.

- Strong expertise in Python and FastAPI (or Golang with willingness to work in Python).

- Experience designing scalable microservices and distributed systems.

- Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration platforms such as Temporal.

- Deep understanding of REST APIs, asynchronous processing, background jobs, and event-driven architectures.

- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, database optimization, and caching strategies.

- Experience deploying and operating cloud-native applications on AWS, GCP, or Azure.

- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.

- Strong system design skills with an ownership mindset and ability to make pragmatic engineering trade-offs.

- Excellent debugging, performance tuning, and production troubleshooting skills.

- Passion for building maintainable software with strong documentation and engineering discipline.

Nice to Have :

- Experience building AI products, LLM applications, AI agents, or GenAI infrastructure.

- Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, MCP, RAG, or vector databases.

- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other event streaming platforms.

- Exposure to telephony, SIP, VoIP, or real-time communication systems.

- Previous experience at high-growth startups or building products from zero to scale.
