Android Software Developer - Java/Kotlin

Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Android Software Developer to join our engineering team in Pune, where you will take ownership of building high-performance mobile applications that serve millions of users. In this role, you will collaborate closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, and backend engineers to translate complex business requirements into seamless, intuitive mobile experiences. You will be responsible for the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring our applications remain scalable, secure, and responsive. By driving technical excellence and implementing robust architectural patterns, you will directly influence our product roadmap and enhance customer satisfaction, playing a pivotal role in maintaining our competitive edge in the mobile landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

- Architect and maintain scalable Android applications using Kotlin to ensure high performance and code maintainability for our end-users.

- Implement MVVM design patterns to decouple business logic from UI, facilitating easier testing and faster feature deployment for the development team.

- Integrate and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes, significantly reducing time-to-market for new releases.

- Refactor and migrate legacy Java-based codebases to modern standards to improve application stability and reduce technical debt.

- Conduct rigorous code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior developers to uphold high engineering standards across the department.

- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to troubleshoot production issues and implement performance optimizations that directly impact user retention.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in building complex Android applications with a deep understanding of Kotlin and Java, backed by 3 - 5 years of professional experience.

- Proven ability to design modular architectures using MVVM, ensuring that the codebase remains clean, testable, and scalable as the product grows.

- Hands-on experience in configuring and managing CI/CD pipelines, enabling seamless integration and continuous delivery in an agile environment.

- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to communicate technical constraints and solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a track record of thriving in collaborative, fast-paced team environments based in Pune.

- A degree in Computer Science or a related field, combined with a proactive approach to learning new frameworks and adapting to evolving mobile technologies.
