Technical Engineer – Cybersecurity, Hardware & Azure Support

About the Role
TSG is seeking a skilled and proactive Technical Engineer to support the organization's cybersecurity, on-premises IT infrastructure, and Microsoft Azure environment. This role is critical in ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of company systems, networks, and cloud services.
The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience across cybersecurity, hardware and network administration, end-user support, and Azure cloud management. This position requires a strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of security and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Cybersecurity
- Monitor security alerts, logs, and events to identify, investigate, and respond to potential threats and security incidents.
- Implement, maintain, and optimize endpoint protection solutions, firewalls, and network security controls.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation activities to address identified risks.
- Support security governance initiatives, including patch management, compliance requirements, and security best practices (NIST, CIS, SOC 2, etc.).
- Assist with incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident documentation.
- Manage user access controls and perform periodic access reviews to ensure compliance with security policies.
Hardware & Infrastructure Support
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and networking equipment.
- Diagnose hardware issues and perform preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability.
- Manage IT asset inventory, hardware lifecycle planning, and procurement activities.
- Maintain office network infrastructure, including switches, routers, wireless access points, and structured cabling.
- Support workstation deployments, office relocations, and IT infrastructure setup activities.
- Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 technical support to end users through both on-site and remote channels.
Azure Cloud Administration
- Administer and monitor Azure resources, including Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Networking, and related services.
- Manage Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra ID), including user accounts, groups, roles, and permissions.
- Support Azure security configurations, Conditional Access policies, identity management, and compliance monitoring.
- Assist in managing backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions within Azure.
- Support hybrid infrastructure environments by integrating on-premises systems with Azure cloud services.
- Monitor cloud performance, availability, and costs, ensuring efficient utilization of cloud resources.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in IT Support, Systems Administration, Infrastructure Management, or a related technical role.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, security tools, and best practices, including firewalls, endpoint protection, and SIEM solutions.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting desktop, server, and network hardware.
- Experience administering Microsoft Azure services, including Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Virtual Machines.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, and routing fundamentals.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver timely resolutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as:
- CompTIA Security+
- CompTIA Network+
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900)
- Experience with vulnerability management and SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, or Qualys.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation tools, particularly PowerShell.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Bangalore. The role may occasionally require after-hours support or participation in an on-call rotation to address critical incidents, maintenance activities, or business continuity requirements.
