Job Description :

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Specialist Apptio to join our Technology Business Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the organization's IT Financial Management (ITFM) and Technology Business Management (TBM) initiatives through effective administration and optimization of the Apptio platform.

You will play a critical role in delivering technology cost transparency, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and business insights that enable informed decision-making across the technology organization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Apptio administration, month-end financial processing, data validation, financial planning, and Power BI reporting, along with a strong understanding of IT financial management principles.

Key Responsibilities :

- Administer and support the Apptio platform to ensure accurate financial data processing and reporting.

- Execute monthly Apptio month-end close activities, ensuring timely completion of financial processing cycles.

- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks across multiple financial and operational data sources.

- Manage data imports, allocations, mappings, and transformations within the Apptio platform.

- Configure and maintain Apptio models, reports, cost pools, cost centers, and allocation methodologies.

- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning using Apptio Planning.

- Collaborate with Finance, Technology Business Management (TBM), and IT teams to improve financial transparency.

- Develop financial models to support technology investment planning and cost optimization initiatives.

- Create and maintain executive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI.

- Analyze IT spending trends, technology costs, utilization, and resource consumption to provide actionable insights.

- Prepare recurring financial reports, variance analysis, and executive presentations.

- Work closely with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into scalable reporting solutions.

- Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and month-end financial reporting activities.

- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, automation, and reporting efficiency.

- Troubleshoot data discrepancies and coordinate issue resolution with source system owners.

- Document Apptio processes, financial models, and operational procedures.

- Support Apptio upgrades, testing, enhancements, and platform improvements.

- Ensure governance and compliance of financial data within the Apptio environment.

- Participate in technology cost optimization and TBM maturity initiatives.

Required Skills :

- Hands-on experience administering the Apptio platform.

- Strong experience with Apptio month-end processing and financial close activities.

- Experience using Apptio Planning for budgeting and forecasting.

- Strong understanding of Technology Business Management (TBM) principles.

- Knowledge of IT Financial Management (ITFM) methodologies.

- Experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large financial datasets.

- Experience in financial data validation and reconciliation.

- Expertise in Power BI dashboard development and reporting.

- Strong understanding of financial reporting and management information systems.

- Experience working with financial models, allocations, and cost transparency frameworks.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, and complex formulas.

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.

- Experience supporting enterprise-scale Apptio implementations.

- Knowledge of IT budgeting, chargeback/showback models, and technology cost optimization.

- Understanding of cloud cost management and infrastructure financial reporting.

- Experience working with ERP and financial systems.

- Exposure to Agile delivery methodologies.

- RTBMA R12 (Registered Technology Business Management Analyst) Certification is highly preferred.

- Additional certifications in Apptio or Power BI are an advantage.
