Lead Analyst Applications Middleware
What does the job entail?
The Lead Analyst Applications Middleware is fully responsible for analysis and coordination / lead of integration projects / initiatives in Bremen applications middleware and EDI solutions.
He works with a team of 4 - 5 people from Engineer to Lead Engineer for cluster Bremen in GCC India.
The applications middleware plays a very vital part of Bremen application landscape. High availability is key to Bremen IT and business operations.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership and Coordination : Coordinate / lead projects / initiatives in a team of analysts and developers designing and implementing application integration solutions
Technical Expertise : Ensure that IBM MQ and B2BI systems are optimally configured and maintained at state of technology
Project Management : Monitor the progress of projects / initiatives and ensure that all milestones and goals are met
Problem Solving : Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges related to IBM MQ and B2BI
Reporting : Create regular reports on the progress and outcomes of projects / initiatives
Installing Updates and Patches : Take responsibility for keeping the solution and systems up to date and state of technology
Detailed Responsibilities :
Maintenance and administration of middleware B2BI and MQ :
Maintenance and management of the IBM MQ systems (server, client, queues, admin tools)
Create, maintain and monitor B2BI business processes
Regular review and maintenance of the system to ensure optimal performance
Consulting and supporting implementing IBM MQ-based software solutions
Management of user accounts and access rights
Coordinate implementation of software updates and patches (B2BI, MQ Server & Client)
Analyze system performance and availability
Support team in error analysis and troubleshooting; assist difficult issue and problem solving with on-call participation
Design specific processes, features or modules of the solution to integrate processes or queues into the larger system including handover to team
Collaborating with other IT and business teams to integrate and optimize business processes
Technical review of the team’s work
Creating and checking technical documentation
Monitoring and ensuring system performance and availability :
Support continuous monitoring of system resources and processes
Design measures to ensure high availability and fault tolerance of the system
Conducting error analysis and troubleshooting :
Support identification and analysis of system errors and malfunctions
Design and support development and implementation of solutions to resolve issues
Support documentation of errors and check the technical measures taken by the team
Implementing updates and patches :
Planning and coordinating system updates and patches
Design and coordinate test of updates in a test environment before deploying them to the production environment
Ensuring all updates and patches are properly documented
Working closely with other IT departments and business units
Collaborating with other IT teams to integrate and optimize business processes :

Analyze and design integration of new applications and systems into the existing IT landscape
Creating and maintaining technical documentation :
Create and review technical manuals, guides, and documentation for correctness and consistency
Managing and integrating interfaces :
Analyze and design implementation of interfaces between IBM B2BI Sterling Integrator and other systems
Support implementation and configuration of queues with IBM MQ Explorer
Support monitoring and optimizing interface performance
Collaborating with external partners and service providers to integrate third-party systems
Who are we looking for?
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience : Minimum of 6 years of experience in IBM application middleware, integration technologies, integration scenarios and EDI (electronic data interchange), ideally with certification; proven track and experience as analyst / architect, project lead / coordinator in the domain
Strong written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English
Technical skills (mandatory) :
Operating systems :
Proficient with Windows and Unix (Linux / AIX) operating systems
Application middleware :
Technical expertise in operating IBM applications middleware. This is IBM MQ and IBM B2BI.
Technical expertise in corresponding development environments such as MQ Explorer and SI Web Interface
Electronic data interchange :
Technical expertise in EDI concepts and solutions, e.g. interoperability with SAP EDI solutions
Technical Expertise in communication standards such as XML and SFTP
Scheduling :
Technical know-how in scheduling tools, ideally SAP BPM (Redwood Cronacle)
Databases :
Technical know-how in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and SQL programming
IT Services :
Working knowledge in ITIL (ideally with certification) and ticketing tools (e.g. ServiceNow)
Technical skills (optional) :
Programming :
Python for data engineering and cloud analytics with e.g. Databricks
Soft skills :
Problem-Solving : Ability to analyze complex technical problems and find effective solutions
