Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled Android AOSP Firmware Engineer with strong expertise in Android platform development and firmware customization. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with AOSP architecture, Android HAL, CTS/VTS validation, SEPolicy, and firmware bring-up. The candidate should be capable of independently debugging and resolving platform issues while contributing to Android firmware development for embedded devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, customize, and maintain Android AOSP firmware for embedded platforms.
- Work extensively on Android platform components, including Android HAL, Framework, and System Services.
- Analyze, debug, and resolve firmware-related issues across the Android software stack.
- Develop and customize SEPolicy, Board Configuration, and Android configuration files.
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve CTS (Compatibility Test Suite) and VTS (Vendor Test Suite) failures.
- Integrate and validate platform-specific hardware features with Android.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure firmware stability, performance, and compliance.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement fixes for system-level issues.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain software quality standards.
Required Skills:
- 48 years of experience in Android Firmware Development.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with AOSP Firmware.
- Strong understanding of Android Open Source Project (AOSP) architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Android HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer).
- Good knowledge of SEPolicy, Board Config, Product Config, and Android build configuration.
- Experience in debugging and fixing CTS/VTS issues.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in Java (mandatory).
- Knowledge of C/C++ is an added advantage.
- Experience with Android build systems and Linux development environment.
- Familiarity with Git/version control systems.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in Android Automotive or Infotainment domain.
- Exposure to Android BSP, device bring-up, and driver integration.
- Knowledge of Linux Kernel, Device Tree, and embedded systems.
- Experience working with OEMs or Android platform vendors.
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or a related engineering discipline.
Good to Have:
- Experience with Android platform optimization and performance tuning.
- Exposure to Android Security, SELinux, and system-level debugging.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
