What you'll do?
The Senior Manager - Internal Audit (HIA) will be responsible for leading the Internal Audit Function of the Company in accordance with the RBI (Non-Banking Financial Companies - Governance) Directions. The role will provide independent assurance to the Board and the Audit Committee on the effectiveness of governance, internal controls, risk management and regulatory compliance across the organisation.
The HIA will oversee the Internal Audit Framework, Risk-Based Internal Audit (RBIA) programme and the execution of audit activities, while ensuring the overall effectiveness of the Internal Audit Function. The role will function independently of the business and report functionally to the Audit Committee of the Board and administratively to the Managing Director & CEO
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and independently manage the Internal Audit Function in compliance with RBI regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain the Board-approved Internal Audit Policy, Charter and Risk-Based Internal Audit (RBIA) Framework.
- Prepare the annual and periodic Risk-Based Internal Audit Plan based on the Company's risk profile, regulatory priorities and emerging risks.
- Review and evaluate the effectiveness of governance, risk management, internal controls, regulatory compliance, business operations, outsourced activities, and technology and information security controls.
- Ensure that all significant activities of the Company are covered under the audit cycle, with high-risk areas reviewed more frequently - lending operations, treasury, compliance, IT systems, finance, HR and risk management.
- Review audit observations, identify systemic issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Monitor closure of audit observations and validate the effectiveness of remediation through periodic follow-up reviews.
- Present audit reports, key themes, emerging risks and the status of remediation to the Audit Committee and the Board.
- Coordinate with Risk Management, Compliance, Statutory Auditors and Regulatory Inspection teams while maintaining the independence of the Internal Audit Function.
- Drive the adoption of modern audit methodologies, including data analytics, thematic reviews and continuous auditing techniques.
- Keep the Board informed of significant control weaknesses, fraud risks, governance concerns and regulatory issues.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable RBI requirements relating to the Internal Audit Function
Who you need to be?
Education: CA/CPA/ACCA mandatory; CIA preferred.
Experience: 8-12 years in internal audit, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
Domain Expertise: Strong exposure to NBFC/fintech compliance, RBI guidelines, SEBI regulations, and corporate Risk-based auditing and internal financial controls.

- Proficiency in audit tools, data analytics, and MS Office.
