Role Overview :
As an Embedded Software Lead based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, you will spearhead the architecture, development, and optimization of high-performance firmware for our next-generation embedded systems. You will serve as the technical anchor for the engineering team, collaborating closely with hardware designers, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust, scalable software solutions.
Your work will directly influence the reliability and efficiency of our products, ensuring seamless integration between hardware and software layers to deliver a superior experience for our end users. This role is pivotal in driving our technical roadmap and maintaining the highest standards of code quality in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Architect and implement low-level firmware solutions to ensure optimal hardware-software interaction and system performance.
- Lead the development of complex device drivers and board support packages to enable seamless communication across diverse hardware peripherals.
- Mentor junior engineers through rigorous code reviews and technical guidance to foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
- Execute end-to-end debugging and system-level troubleshooting to identify and resolve critical bottlenecks in real-time environments.
- Collaborate with hardware teams to define system specifications and validate design prototypes, ensuring alignment with project milestones and business objectives.
- Optimize resource-constrained systems by implementing efficient memory management and power consumption strategies to enhance overall product longevity.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated expertise in C and C++ programming, with a deep understanding of memory management, pointer arithmetic, and object-oriented design patterns in embedded contexts.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain firmware on ARM-based architectures, leveraging advanced debugging tools and techniques to resolve complex system failures.
- Proficiency in working with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, with a focus on task scheduling, synchronization, and interrupt handling.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to communicate technical trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- A collaborative approach to problem-solving, capable of working effectively within a hybrid office environment in the Mumbai/Thane/Navi Mumbai area.
- A solid academic foundation in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline, complemented by a track record of delivering high-quality embedded software projects.
