We are an ISO 9001 certified agency, and we are growing. We're looking for an Accountant to join our Mumbai head office and take ownership of our day-to-day financial operations.

The Role

You will manage the core accounting function of a busy international recruitment business — handling everything from client invoicing and vendor payments to statutory compliance and financial reporting. This is a hands-on role with genuine ownership and direct exposure to management.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of accounts and daily bookkeeping entries
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Prepare and issue client invoices; track and follow up on outstanding payments
• Handle GST, TDS filings and other statutory compliance
• Process payroll and staff reimbursements
• Perform bank reconciliations and manage petty cash
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
• Coordinate with external auditors and consultants during audits
• Maintain organised financial records and documentation
• Support management with financial data and reports as required

Requirements

• B.Com / M.Com degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance [or CA Inter, if preferred]
• [2–4] years of accounting experience [adjust as needed]
• Working knowledge of Tally / [Zoho Books / other software you use]
• Solid understanding of GST, TDS and Indian statutory compliance
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
• Good communication skills in English and Hindi

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Experience in a recruitment, manpower, or services business
• Exposure to foreign currency transactions or international invoicing
• Familiarity with export/overseas billing documentation

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong core accounting skills, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable processing, bank reconciliation, and preparation of financial statements.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in financial reporting and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting support, variance analysis, and management of monthly and annual closing activities.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance practices, as well as experience supporting audits and maintaining proper documentation.
• Candidates should possess good command of accounting and ERP software (such as Tally, SAP, or similar), along with strong skills in MS Excel and other financial tools.
• Candidates should possess strong analytical and numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Candidates should possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, management, and external partners.
• Candidates should possess a relevant educational background, such as a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (CA, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
• Candidates should possess the ability to work on-site in Mumbai, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced, internationally oriented work environment.
