Lead Business Data Analyst

Job Title: Senior BDA / Lead BDA

Location: Bangalore/ Coimbatore/ NCR

Experience: 8-10 years

Immediate joiners or notice period of less than 10 days are needed

We are looking for a hands-on Senior or BDA Lead who can drive the evolution of our analytics platform beyond traditional reporting. This role will focus on building a scalable data foundation, defining business metrics, and enabling reliable analytics across teams.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and own reporting team (Business reports /Tableau / SSRS) to standardize data models and create a consistent metrics layer.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and build a centralized metrics layer (KPI standardization)
• Understand business domains quickly and translate them into clean data models
• Improve and standardize existing Tableau / SSRS reporting landscape
• Write, manage, and optimize complex stored procedures in Microsoft SQL Server
• Handle ongoing support workload (bug fixes, enhancements, new report requests)
• Work directly with business stakeholders for requirement gathering and refinement
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve data pipelines and transformations
• Contribute to building a scalable transformation layer (dbt or equivalent)
• Drive data modeling best practices (dimensional modeling, fact/dimension design)
• Evaluate and support BI tool migration (if needed)
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance
• Mentor reporting and analytics team members

Must Have Skills

• Strong SQL and data modeling experience
• Hands-on experience with SSRS and/or Tableau or Similar
• Strong expertise in stored procedures (MSSQL) and query optimization
• Experience handling support-driven environments (tickets, report changes, bugs)
• Experience defining business KPIs and metrics layers
• Ability to bridge business + data

Good to Have

• Exposure to dbt or similar transformation frameworks
• Experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake / Databricks / BigQuery / Redshift)
• Experience in BI migration or modernization initiatives
• Familiarity with semantic layers / headless BI concepts
