Sr Engineer - AME (Tooling)

Job Summary

• Work experience in the automotive moulding industry
• ISO 14000 / OSHAS 18001 awareness
• Good problem-solving skills with knowledge of tools such as Root Cause Analysis, 5-Why Analysis, and Error Proofing
• Understanding of IATF / ISO-TS 16949 requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret BOM (Bill of Materials)
• Prepare tooling specification sheets as per BOM
• Carry out modeling, assembly, and part feasibility studies (DFM)
• Handle mold design and new product & tool development for automotive components
• Conduct mold design reviews and DFM reviews
• Plan and schedule design work
• Review and correct redesigned/existing tooling for feasibility
• Assess tooling feasibility at RFQ stage and modification stage
• Prepare RFQs and tool cost breakups as per customer requirements
• Maintain records of customer property (3D models, 2D model data sheets, drawings, and technical specifications)
• Submit project timelines/plans to customers for all development activities
• Coordinate with customers and suppliers
• Maintain documentation related to design
• Conduct mold trials and secure acceptance

Other Responsibilities

EHS (Environment, Health & Safety)

• Follow all Health & Safety and Environmental requirements defined in work instructions or training
• Follow required emergency prevention and operational controls
• Report all accidents, occupational illnesses, and emergencies

Quality

• Apply, execute, and maintain function-related BOS (Business Operating System) requirements
• Perform additional activities/responsibilities as individually assigned

Information Security

• Adhere to policies ensuring information security

Qualification & Experience

Education - Diploma in Tool Making (NTTF / GTTC / IGTR / CIPET)

Job Qualifications & Compliance

• EHS: Qualification for high-risk equipment operation (forklift, overhead crane, etc.) and high-risk activities (electrician, welding, etc.), where applicable
• Quality: Involvement in quality verification, colour-difference identification, and archival responsibilities as assigned
• Internal Control: Adherence to regular job rotation and A-role/B-role backup structure
