Eximietas Design - Test Automation Engineer - Board Support Package

Role & responsibilities :

We are seeking a skilled Test Automation Engineer for BSP (Board Support Package) and Boot ROM testing. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain automated test frameworks to validate BSP and Boot ROM functionality on embedded hardware platforms.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and develop automated test suites for BSP and Boot ROM code validation

- Build and maintain test automation frameworks using Python and pytest

- Validate boot sequence integrity, secure boot, and boot ROM functionality on real hardware

- Debug test failures at hardware and software levels, including Python code debugging and embedded system debugging

- Develop test infrastructure for continuous integration and regression testing

- Collaborate with firmware and BSP development teams to define test strategies and coverage

- Analyze test results, report defects, and track resolution

- Maintain and enhance existing automation tools and test scripts

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Python : Strong proficiency in Python programming for test automation

- Pytest : Expert-level knowledge of pytest framework (fixtures, parameterization, plugins, markers, conftest patterns)

- Python Debugging : Strong expertise in Python code debugging (pdb, logging, IDE debuggers, traceback analysis)

- BSP Knowledge : Understanding of Board Support Packages, device drivers, and Linux kernel boot flow

- Boot ROM : Familiarity with Boot ROM code, boot sequence, and secure boot mechanisms

- Hardware Debugging : Experience with debugging tools (JTAG, serial consoles, logic analyzers)

- Linux : Comfortable with Linux kernel concepts and command-line environment

- Version Control : Git proficiency.

Nice to Have :

- Experience with emulation/simulation platforms

- CI/CD pipeline integration (Jenkins, GitLab CI)

- Knowledge of power management, thermal, and voltage subsystems

- Experience with test reporting frameworks (pytest-html)

- Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing
