Key Purpose of the Role :

Python backend developer will design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems for modern web and enterprise applications. While the primary focus is on application development, the role requires a working understanding of AI technologies including large language models (LLMs), agent-based systems, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to support integration and collaboration with AI-focused teams.

Principal Responsibilities :

- Architect and develop robust backend services and APIs using Python and modern frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask).

- Design and optimize database schemas and queries using SQL and NoSQL technologies.

- Collaborate with frontend, product, and AI teams to integrate intelligent features into applications.

- Ensure backend systems are secure, scalable, and maintainable through best practices and DevOps workflows.

- Support the integration of AI-powered services (e.g., LLM APIs, RAG pipelines) into application workflows.

- Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to technical decision-making.

Person Specification :

Essential Skills :

- Python Backend Development : Expertise in building and maintaining scalable backend systems.

- Database Management : Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.

- API Design & Integration : Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.

- DevOps Practices : Familiarity with Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment.

Overall, Skills and Experience :

- Exposure to AI concepts such as LLMs, agents, and RAG pipelines, with ability to collaborate on integration.

- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration.

- Understanding of security best practices, performance optimization, and system monitoring.

- Ability to work in agile teams and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications :

Essential :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

- 5+ years of professional experience in Python backend development and application architecture.
