Senior Software Engineer - Embedded System

Job Title : Embedded Software Developer / Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Experience : 5- 7 years

Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Developer with strong expertise in MediaTek SoCs, Board Support Package (BSP) development, and Linux kernel customization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, porting, debugging, and optimizing embedded Linux software for MediaTek-based platforms, working closely with hardware, system integration, and product teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop, customize, and maintain BSPs for MediaTek-based embedded devices.

- Perform Linux kernel porting, configuration, customization, and debugging.

- Develop and integrate device drivers for peripherals such as GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, USB, PCIe, Ethernet, and multimedia interfaces.

- Bring up new hardware platforms and support board-level validation.

- Analyze and resolve kernel crashes, boot issues, memory leaks, and performance bottlenecks.

- Work with bootloaders such as U-Boot and platform initialization components.

- Integrate and optimize middleware, system services, and hardware abstraction layers.

- Debug issues using kernel logs, trace tools, JTAG, and debugging utilities.

- Collaborate with hardware, QA, and application teams throughout the product lifecycle.

- Participate in code reviews and maintain software development best practices.

Required Skills :

Core Technical Skills :

- Strong programming skills in C and Embedded C.

- Experience with MediaTek SoCs/platforms.

- Hands-on experience in BSP development and customization.

- Strong knowledge of Linux Kernel architecture and internals.

- Linux kernel configuration, compilation, and porting experience.

- Device driver development for Linux.

- Experience with bootloaders such as U-Boot.

- Understanding of embedded system architecture and hardware-software interaction.

- Knowledge of memory management, interrupts, scheduling, and IPC mechanisms.

- Familiarity with Buildroot, Yocto, or embedded Linux build systems.
