Job Description : QA / Test Engineer

Work Model : Work from Office - 5 days a week

Work Timings : 11 : 30 AM - 8 : 30 PM

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced QA / Test Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of complex, integrated web applications. The role involves functional, API, and data validation testing, working closely with cross functional teams in a fast paced Agile environment, especially within Mortgage and Finance domains.

Key Responsibilities :

- Perform functional and end-to-end testing of applications across multiple workflows

- Validate web applications for different user journeys and business scenarios

- Conduct API testing for REST services, including request/response validation using tools like Postman

- Perform backend data validation using SQL, including joins and complex queries

- Test applications built on microservices architecture and validate integrations across distributed systems

- Design and execute test cases based on business and technical requirements

- Manage defect lifecycle including logging, tracking, retesting, and closure

- Work with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, qTest, or similar

- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Developers, and Product teams to ensure quality delivery

- Ensure adherence to QA processes across SDLC/STLC

- Handle testing in environments with multiple dependencies and integrations

Required Skills :

- Strong experience in Functional Testing and end-to-end application validation

- Hands-on experience in API Testing (REST APIs, Postman preferred)

- Good knowledge of SQL for backend and data validation

- Experience testing web applications

- Good understanding of Microservices architecture

- Experience working in complex, fast-paced environments

- Hands-on experience with Jira, qTest, or similar test/defect management tools

- Strong understanding of test case design, execution, and defect management

- Domain experience in Mortgage and/or Finance applications (preferred)

- Ability to understand business requirements and ensure quality outcomes

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Good to Have :

- Understanding of AI / Generative AI concepts

- Exposure to Claude AI or AI-assisted testing/workflows

- Exposure to automation testing (any tool/framework)
