Job Title: EDW Test Automation Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced EDW Test Automation Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and ETL testing, with hands-on experience validating large-scale data pipelines, ensuring data accuracy across transformations, and building automation solutions for data validation and regression testing.
You will work closely with Data Engineers, ETL Developers, Business Analysts, and QA teams to ensure the reliability, consistency, and quality of enterprise data used for reporting and analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform end-to-end testing of Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and ETL processes.
- Validate data movement, transformations, mappings, and business rules across multiple data sources.
- Write and execute complex SQL queries for data validation, reconciliation, and root cause analysis.
- Verify data integrity, completeness, accuracy, and consistency throughout ETL workflows.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for EDW and ETL validation.
- Build and enhance automation frameworks for regression and data quality testing.
- Identify, document, and track data defects, inconsistencies, and quality issues.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, ETL Developers, and Business Analysts to resolve defects and improve data quality.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Support continuous integration and continuous testing initiatives for data platforms.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in Software Testing with strong focus on EDW and ETL Testing.
- Hands-on experience validating enterprise data warehouse solutions.
- Strong expertise in ETL testing, data migration testing, and data reconciliation.
- Advanced SQL skills with experience writing complex queries for data validation and analysis.
- Strong understanding of:
1. Data Warehousing concepts
2. ETL processes
3. Data pipelines
4. Data transformation and mapping
5. Data validation techniques
- Experience developing or maintaining automation frameworks for data testing is highly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, DataStage, SSIS, or similar.
- Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Databricks.
- Knowledge of Python or Java for test automation.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Xray, or Azure DevOps.
