Job Description

We are now looking for a Trade Commissioner & Country Manager to India one of the worlds fastest-growing major economies and an increasingly important market for Swedish companies. With a population exceeding 1.4 billion ambitious economic reforms significant investments in infrastructure and manufacturing and growing strategic importance in the global economy India offers substantial opportunities across a wide range of sectors.

As Trade Commissioner & Country Manager you will lead one of Business Swedens largest and most strategically important operations globally. You will be responsible for driving commercial growth developing our team and strengthening Swedens business relations with India. The role combines strategic leadership client development stakeholder management and operational execution.

You will represent Swedish business interests in India and play a key role in advancing trade investment and innovation collaboration between Sweden and India. The position requires close collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden Team Sweden partners Swedish authorities and industry stakeholders as well as senior decision-makers in both the private and public sectors.

The role includes both strategic tactical and operational responsibilities such as:

• Driving sustainable revenue growth and profitability in line with agreed target
• Leading developing and inspiring a high-performing team across India
• Representing Business Sweden and Swedish enterprise in the market
• Selling and delivering Business Swedens services to existing and prospective clients
• Building and maintaining senior-level relationships with companies government stakeholders and strategic partners
• Managing and participating in consulting market expansion and business development projects
• Full Profit & Loss responsibility for the India operation
• Driving organisational development operational excellence and collaboration across the APAC region
• Contributing to Business Swedens broader strategic priorities and regional initiatives

You will have very close relations with the Embassy of Sweden and other Team Sweden stakeholders. This means acting as an official representative of Sweden and contributing to the continued strengthening of the Sweden-India partnership.

The role is based in India and requires regular travel within the country across Asia Pacific and occasionally to Sweden.
