Senior Engineer - Performance Testing

About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer Performance Testing to join our Quality Engineering team.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in JMeter-based performance testing, scripting, and performance analysis across modern web, API, microservices, and cloud-native applications.

You will be responsible for designing performance test strategies, identifying system bottlenecks, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure scalable and high-performing applications.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and execute end-to-end performance, load, stress, and endurance testing.

- Develop and maintain performance test scripts using Apache JMeter with BeanShell, Groovy, and JavaScript.

- Create automated performance testing frameworks for web applications, REST APIs, and HTTP/HTTPS-based services.

- Analyze Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) and define appropriate performance test strategies.

- Understand application architecture, including web applications, APIs, microservices, and cloud-based systems, to design effective test scenarios.

- Build and maintain performance test environments and automate test execution and reporting.

- Identify performance bottlenecks across application layers, including client, server, network, and database.

- Perform root cause analysis and collaborate with Developers, Architects, and DevOps teams to optimize application performance.

- Prepare detailed performance reports with actionable recommendations.

Must-Have Skills :

- 7+ years of experience in Performance Testing.

- Strong hands-on expertise with Apache JMeter.

- Proficiency in scripting using BeanShell, Groovy, and JavaScript within JMeter.

- Strong experience testing HTTP/HTTPS, REST APIs, and web-based applications.

- Ability to understand and interpret Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs).

- Experience working with Microservices and Cloud-Native Architectures.

- Strong knowledge of performance testing methodologies including Load, Stress, Spike, and Endurance testing.

- Experience analyzing performance bottlenecks across :

1. Client Layer

2. Application Server

3. Network

4. AWS DocumentDB (DocDB)

- Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.

- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and AWS ECS.

- Familiarity with container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.

- Exposure to AI-assisted QA and performance engineering tools such as Qodex.ai and LoadMind AI Analyzer.

- Experience with monitoring and observability tools including :

1. Grafana

2. InfluxDB

3. Prometheus

4. AWS CloudWatch

5. AWS Performance Insights

6. AWS CloudTrail

Preferred Candidate Profile :

- Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable application architecture.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

- Ability to work independently and drive performance engineering initiatives.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
