Background on the Team
The Global Stewardship Team is an integral part of MSIMs governance and stewardship function. Responsible for overseeing and executing the firms proxy voting strategy the team plays a vital role in upholding shareholder rights and ensuring corporate accountability across global investments.
The team evaluates and votes on a wide range of corporate governance matters including board composition executive compensation environmental and social issues. Working closely with investors to ensure voting decisions align with the firms policies.
Primary Responsibilities
The Associate on the Global Stewardship Team will play a key role in the analysis evaluation and execution of proxy voting activities for portfolio companies. This individual will provide expertise in environmental social and governance (ESG) issues working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with our stewardship goals and voting policies.

Preferred Skills
- Experience engaging with portfolio companies on governance and stewardship matters
- Familiarity with global governance practices and proxy voting regulations
- Effective communication skills
- Excellent analytical research and critical thinking skills
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in finance Economics Law or a related field; advance degrees (MBA CFA) or governance certifications are preferred.
- At least 3 years of industry experience in proxy voting corporate governance or a related field within Asset management.
- Proficient in Proxy voting platforms and relevant software tools (for example ISS Glass Lewis or similar)
