About the Position :

Our client is looking for a passionate System Test Engineer to join our Networking Solutions team. In this role, you will validate embedded networking platforms, develop functional and automation test suites, and work closely with development teams to ensure the quality and reliability of next-generation networking solutions. This opportunity is ideal for engineers with strong networking fundamentals, scripting skills, and an interest in embedded systems and semiconductor products.

Key Responsibilities :

- Understand product requirements and networking features to develop comprehensive validation plans.

- Design, develop, and execute functional and system-level test cases.

- Perform feature validation for Layer 2 through Layer 7 networking protocols.

- Configure and manage networking test environments using routers, switches, and traffic generators.

- Execute regression, interoperability, and end-to-end system testing.

- Automate functional test cases using Python and Shell scripting.

- Debug test failures, analyze logs, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.

- Report defects using Jira/Bugzilla and track issues through closure.

- Support continuous quality improvements by enhancing automation coverage and test infrastructure.

- Work closely with global engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications :

- BE/B.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Information Technology, or equivalent.

- 24 years of experience in Networking System Testing, Embedded Validation, or Product Testing.

- Good understanding of networking architecture and protocol behavior.

- Hands-on experience configuring networking devices and building test setups.

Technical Skills :

1. Networking :

- Strong understanding of : Ethernet, ARP, VLAN, Switching, STP/RSTP, Routing, NAT, ICMP, DHCP, TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, DNS, SNMP, NTP/PTP.

- Knowledge of network security concepts is desirable.

2. Programming & Automation :

- Python scripting

- Shell scripting

- Object-Oriented Programming

- Data Structures & Algorithms

- Linux/Unix command line

3. Software Testing :

- Functional Testing

- System Testing

- Regression Testing

- Test Planning & Test Case Development

- Root Cause Analysis

- Defect Tracking (Jira/Bugzilla)

Preferred Skills :

- Experience testing embedded networking products.

- Exposure to automation frameworks.

- Familiarity with packet capture and protocol analysis tools such as Wireshark.

- Experience with traffic generators or network emulation tools.

- Knowledge of continuous integration environments.
