Senior Oracle DBA - Azure Cloud Migration (Findur Platform)

Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to support a strategic cloud transformation initiative for a global client. The role involves end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-premise Solaris environments to RHEL-based infrastructure on Azure, with a strong focus on supporting the Findur application ecosystem. The candidate will play a critical role across database setup, migration, optimization, DR design, and ongoing application support, ensuring high reliability, performance, and scalability in the target cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Oracle Database Setup & Configuration :

- Install and configure Oracle databases on RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) in Azure.

- Set up all required base prerequisites for Oracle deployment.

- Ensure best practices for security, performance, and scalability are incorporated.

2. Findur Application Database Management :

- Implement and manage database-level changes required for Findur.

- Support application integration, performance tuning, and operational management.

- Collaborate with application teams for schema updates, deployments, and issue resolution.

3. Migration & Transformation Activities :

- Lead and support migration of Oracle databases from Solaris (on-premise) to RHEL (Azure).

- Conduct detailed assessment of existing Solaris environment and define migration approach.

- Execute migration strategies ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.

4. Backup, Restore & Post-Refresh Activities :

- Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies and Scripts.

- Create and optimize post-refresh scripts and processes.

- Perform periodic restore validations and DR drills.

5. Disaster Recovery (DR) Design & Implementation :

- Design and implement robust DR solutions using Oracle Data Guard and Active Data Guard (or equivalent as per design discussions).

- Ensure high availability and failover mechanisms meet business requirements.

6. Performance Optimization & Monitoring :

- Monitor database health, performance, and availability.

- Tune queries, manage indexes, and optimize resource utilization.

- Implement proactive monitoring and alerting mechanisms.

Mandatory Skills & Experience :

- Strong hands-on experience as Oracle DBA (5+ years preferred).

- Expertise in Oracle database installation, configuration, and administration.

- Experience with Linux environments (preferably RHEL).

- Proven experience in Oracle database migration projects.

- Strong knowledge of backup/recovery, RMAN, and performance tuning.

- Hands-on experience with Data Guard / Active Data Guard solutions.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure and services.

- Exposure to Findur / Openlink / Endur platforms (highly desirable given project scope).

- Understanding of cloud migration strategies and tools.

- Familiarity with automation scripts (Shell, Python, or similar).

- Experience working in financial trading or energy trading systems.

Key Deliverables :

- Successful migration of Oracle DB from Solaris to Azure (RHEL).

- Stable and optimized Findur database environment.

- Fully implemented HA/DR setup with tested failover capability.

- Robust backup, restore, and monitoring framework.
