Job Title – Business Intelligence Lead
Client, a leading telecommunications infrastructure services provider, is seeking a highly skilled BI Lead to drive the design, development, and governance of our Azure-based data and analytics platform.
Role Overview
The BI Lead will architect, build, and govern an end-to-end Azure data and analytics platform. This hands-on technical role requires advanced expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and Power BI, with responsibility for performance, scalability, and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering (Azure Stack)
- Design and develop scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Databricks jobs and notebooks.
- Develop efficient data transformation logic using PySpark DataFrames and SQL functions.
- Build reusable Python-based frameworks and utilities for robust ETL/ELT processes.
- Orchestrate Databricks jobs from ADF pipelines for end-to-end automation and integration.
- Tune Databricks workloads and optimize ADF pipelines for performance and cost efficiency.
Data Integration & Architecture
- Architect and maintain scalable data lake/lakehouse solutions (ADLS Gen2 + Databricks).
- Integrate data from multiple sources (D365, Salesforce, APIs, flat files, databases).
- Develop and maintain Delta Lake / Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).
- Standardize enterprise data models for analytics and reporting, ensuring quality and consistency.
Power BI Development
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets.
- Build and support Power BI Paginated Reports (Report Builder / RDL).
- Develop optimized semantic models using advanced DAX and data modeling best practices.
- Create and maintain complex data transformations using M Query (Power Query).
- Manage Power BI Service workspaces, deployments, and security (RLS, access control).
Performance & Optimization
- Manage existing BI infrastructure, reports, reporting systems and recommend strategies to improve performance and capacity of BI tools for current and future data.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents; implement BI systems monitoring and alerts.
- Support BI tools upgrades and maintain technical architectural documentation.
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work closely with business stakeholders, BI teams, and data architects to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and foster a results-driven, customer-centric culture.
- Document technical solutions and share best practices with the broader BI and IT teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
- 8+ years' experience in enterprise-wide BI system design and architecture.
- 7+ years in data modeling and visualization.
- Strong experience with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, SQL, Python, Power BI Desktop/Service, Report Builder, DAX.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric / Direct Lake, CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub).
- Ability to work in large, complex BI development projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Agile methodology and offshore teams.

- Experience with telecom or project-based financial reporting.
