As a member of the Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS) Sourcing team you will execute procurement activities specializing in tail spend management across two key areas: reactively sourcing purchase requisitions submitted directly by business requesters and proactively analyzing unmanaged spend to expand catalog coverage and reduce non-compliant purchasing. You will conduct competitive sourcing events through e-sourcing platforms leveraging AI-powered automation tools to drive efficient processing faster cycle times and data-driven supplier selection. This role is part of the Global Procurement Organization (GPO) and supports operations based in APAC (Asia-Pacific) NA (North America) and EMEA (Europe Middle East & Africa) customer requirements.
Key job responsibilities
- Execute reactive sourcing for purchase requisitions from business requesters conducting competitive sourcing events evaluating supplier quotes and awarding to compliant suppliers across multiple categories and regions within GPO (Global Procurement Organization) scope.
- Leverage and actively adopt AI-powered procurement tools and automation technologies (e.g. automated RFQ (Request for Quotation) generation intelligent vendor matching autonomous quote reading) to process sourcing requests efficiently reduce cycle times and drive data-informed decision-making.
- Proactively analyze unmanaged spend data to identify catalog expansion opportunities and reduce non-compliant free text purchasing using analytical platforms and AI-driven insights to prioritize high-impact opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to Amazons Global Spending and Transaction Policy (GSTP) and comply with GPO procurement policies procedures and payment terms standards.
- Build effective working relationships with business requesters Category Management teams Site Procurement Operations (SPO) external suppliers and cross-functional partners to understand requirements and deliver compliant sourcing solutions.
- Deliver against key performance metrics (KPIs) including savings opportunities catalog coverage expansion sourcing cycle time targets and compliance rates.
- Actively participate in process improvement initiatives and technology adoption programs to optimize tail spend management through automation enablement and operational excellence.
- Contribute to achievement of Procurements annual targets for managed spend cost savings compliance rates and operational efficiency.
A day in the life
Youll start your day reviewing your assigned purchase requisitions and prioritizing sourcing events based on urgency and business impact. Using AI-powered e-sourcing tools youll launch automated RFQs (Requests for Quotation) review AI-generated supplier recommendations and validate autonomous quote evaluations stepping in with human judgment where supplier responses require complex specification alignment or negotiation. Throughout the day youll communicate with business requesters to clarify requirements collaborate with Category Management to align on preferred suppliers and continuously leverage automation to handle routine sourcing activities while you focus on higher-complexity events. Youll analyze spend data using analytical platforms to identify opportunities for catalog expansion and work on reducing free text spend across your assigned portfolio.

The Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS) Sourcing team sits within the Global Procurement Organization (GPO) and manages transactional and high-volume tail spend procurement across Amazons worldwide operations. We operate from three hubs Barcelona (Spain) San José (Costa Rica) and Hyderabad (India) providing follow-the-sun coverage across NA EMEA LATAM and APAC. Our team processes thousands of purchase requisitions monthly conducting competitive sourcing events to deliver savings compliance and catalog coverage. - Knowledge of advanced English at CEFR level B2/C1
- Experience with MS Office in particular MS Excel
- High school or equivalent
- Comfort with technology adoption and willingness to work with AI-powered tools and automation platforms
- Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. SAP ORACLE Coupa) in large organizations
- Experience in procurement and purchasing including supplier relationship management
