Engineering Manager

The Candidate Will Have Responsibilities Across The Following Functions

Drive Execution, Product and Delivery:

• Own end-to-end delivery across core product enhancements, new capability development, and client implementations.
• Translate ambiguous business and client requirements into scalable system designs and extensible product solutions.
• Drive execution across multiple concurrent workstreams, balancing rapid delivery with long-term product and architecture goals.
• Ensure high-quality releases with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  
  

Provide Hands-on Technical Leadership

• Design scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Contribute to code and unblock teams on complex technical challenges.
• Guide architecture decisions with a balance of speed and long-term thinking.
  
  

Own Production And Reliability

• Take responsibility for production systems, uptime, and performance.
• Lead incident management, debugging, and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Continuously improve system reliability and engineering practices.
  
  

Build And Lead Teams

• Hire, mentor, and grow a team of high-performing engineers.
• Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Support engineers in their growth while maintaining a strong delivery focus.
  
  

Collaborate Cross-functionally

• Work closely with Product, Customer Success, and external stakeholders.
• Align engineering efforts with client needs and business priorities.
  
  

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building and scaling backend systems and distributed architectures in production environments.
• 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams, with a focus on driving execution while staying close to the code and design.
• Strong expertise in system design, API architecture, and building scalable, extensible platforms.
• Proven ability to translate complex, ambiguous requirements into robust product and engineering solutions.
• Deep experience owning production systems, including incident management, performance optimisation, and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Demonstrated ability to balance rapid delivery with long-term architecture and product quality.
• Experience in fintech, SaaS, or API-first platforms is a plus.
