Senior Data Engineer

About the Role :

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong backend engineering expertise to design, develop, and maintain scalable data-intensive applications and integration services. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Oracle Database, and cloud-native development, along with a solid understanding of distributed systems and messaging technologies.

This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to build reliable, secure, and high-performance enterprise solutions while contributing to architecture, code quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and enterprise applications using Java, Spring Framework, and Hibernate.

- Build and maintain secure, high-performance RESTful APIs and integration services.

- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and integrate applications with Oracle Database.

- Integrate backend applications with enterprise messaging platforms such as Kafka and ActiveMQ.

- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and code reviews to ensure engineering best practices.

- Develop unit tests and integration tests to ensure application quality and reliability.

- Troubleshoot production issues, optimize application performance, and modernize legacy applications.

- Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA teams, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

- Contribute to CI/CD implementation and DevOps best practices.

- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and deployment guides.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

- 7-12 years of experience in Java backend or enterprise application development.

- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot/Spring Framework, and Hibernate/JPA.

- Expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.

- Strong knowledge of Oracle Database, SQL, and performance optimization.

- Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.

- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development practices.

- Good understanding of secure coding principles and cloud-native application development.

- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
