R&D Refining Senior Research Scientist

• Purpose of the Role
• The Senior Research Scientist is responsible for leading and executing research programs to solve complex technical challenges and drive innovation. The role involves designing advanced experiments, generating actionable insights, and translating research outcomes into scalable technologies or products. The individual collaborates with cross-functional teams to align research with business priorities and supports the progression from lab-scale concepts to pilot or commercial deployment.
• Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the design and execution of complex experiments, simulations, or research studies
2. Analyze data and generate deep insights, conclusions, and technical recommendations
3. Drive problem-solving for critical technical challenges across projects
4. Develop and optimize processes, materials, or formulations with scalability in mind
5. Translate research outcomes into pilot-scale or commercial applications
6. Conduct advanced literature reviews and technology assessments to guide research direction
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align research with business and operational goals
8. Mentor and guide junior scientists and research assistants
9. Ensure high-quality documentation, reporting, and knowledge management
10. Contribute to innovation generation, including new concepts and solution approaches
11. Support intellectual property creation (e.g., disclosures, patents, publications)
12. Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards
13. Utilize advanced analytical tools, modeling techniques, and instrumentation
14. Present research findings in technical reviews and leadership forums
15. Drive continuous improvement of research methodologies and lab practices

Education

Master#s or PhD in Engineering / Science

(e.g., Chemical, Polymer, Materials, Mechanical, Biotechnology, or related fields)

Experience Required

• 4#8 years of relevant experience in research, development, or technology roles
• Proven experience in leading experiments, solving technical problems, and delivering research outcomes
• Exposure to scale-up, pilot trials, or commercialization activities preferred
• Track record of publications, patents, or impactful project contributions is an advantage
